A family holiday in August 2024 turned into a life-altering experience for Conor Holt and his loved ones.

Instead of enjoying the Spanish sunshine, they faced a medical emergency when Conor’s father, Rodney, suffered two strokes.

This event not only reshaped their trip but also inspired a remarkable fundraising effort.

A personal battle with StrokeRodney, aged 58, experienced significant changes to his brain due to the strokes. Strokes, which occur when part of the brain shuts down, often result in lasting effects on speech, physical ability and other vital functions. For the Holt family, this life-changing moment brought immense challenges.

After stabilising in a Malaga hospital, Rodney returned to the UK, where he began his intense recovery journey. Daily sessions of speech and language therapy, as well as physiotherapy, have marked his progress. His resilience and determination, described by Conor as “strong-willed,” have helped him achieve remarkable improvements.
