BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) – Local nonprofit New Beginnings Therapeutic Riding is making a significant impact in the community by providing adaptive horseback riding for individuals with disabilities.
Through equine-assisted therapy, the organization helps riders build confidence, develop independence and improve their overall well-being.
Olivia Willis, the Head Instructor and Director of Operations at New Beginnings, emphasized the empowerment that therapeutic riding provides for participants.
“A lot of times they get to come out here and just be like any other individual,” Willis said. “They get to ride a horse, they get to be independent, and they get to enjoy that freedom.”
Therapeutic riding is a proven method of rehabilitation that benefits individuals with a range of physical, emotional and cognitive disabilities.
