BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) – For 27 years, New Beginnings Therapeutic Riding has harnessed the healing power of horses to assist children and adults with behavioral, emotional, mental and physical disabilities. As a premier accredited center through the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship (PATH), the organization stands as one of only four such facilities in Kentucky, ensuring a standard of quality care for its participants.
“Our participants come with medical approval and personal goals, and we work closely with them to achieve those goals,” said Michele Vise, Executive Director of New Beginnings Therapeutic Riding. “Horses serve as an extension of their therapy, offering a unique and impactful experience.”
The program relies heavily on volunteers, who assist with tasks ranging from helping participants during sessions to caring for horses and supporting administrative efforts. Each volunteer undergoes a one-hour orientation that includes a tour of the barn, an overview of the program and emergency procedure training.
