Switzerland. Known for cheese, chocolate, beautiful landscapes, the Alps, skiing and for fine, precision crafted and expensive watches. Known for its status as a neutral state. And also known for its banking industry. Swiss banks are regarded as some of the safest regarding privacy and keeping their client’s identity hidden, with the exception of cases of terrorist threats, of course. But this week one of those banking institutions, the 167 year old Credit Suisse, Switzerland’s second largest, was all over the news as the latest to get caught in the evolving saga of turmoil in the banking industry.
