and their importance. 

What are Comparative Statements?
A comparative income statement is an income statement in which multiple
periods of the income statement are dealt with and compared side by side,
allowing the reader to compare incomes from previous years and make
investment decisions on whether or not to invest in the company.

There are two types of Comparative Statement Analysis: Horizontal Analysis
and Vertical Analysis. 

Importance of Comparative Statements: 
1. Helps in forecasting
2. Helps in drawing conclusion
3. Makes a simpler presentation 
4. Easy detection of discrepancies
